I just installed a newer Faria Tach on our 1996 BF 30 (Never had one before). The digital hour meter at the bottom of the dial shows hours, and is keeping good track. But the analog needle is totally unresponsive. Do I have this set up wrong, or just a bad unit? If so, is it worth repairing?

I used the gray wire as the signal (pulses from the alternator). So the digital portion, for hours is registering properly, but the analog needle stays put at zero 99% of the time. Are these tachometers worth rebuilding?"
 
You might want to check the se

You might want to check the selector on the back of the tach and make sure the position is correct for the number of poles in your alternator. Faria has cross references in their manuals or online.
