"Made my first boat purchase an 1977 17" Reinell V bottom boat with a 120 hp mercruiser stern drive and I want to restore it without changing too much of the original boat look. Their are 4 holes on the rear boat with hoses attached to them but I dont know where to hook those hoses to the motor after someone took them off. I do know one of the hoses connect to a bilge blower but have no clue what to do with the remaining hoses? I was also told I would not be able to find the plastic vents to cover the holes, is this true?

"Welcome Curtis, 2 hoses are attached to 2 vents facing forward and pickup fresh air and brings 1 into the bilge area and the other near the carbs and dont mount or connect to anything, 1 of the other 2 hoses should be connected to a blower motor that pulls air from the bottom of the bilge and connect to a vent facing aft, the other hose connects to a vent also facing aft and typically just sits about halfway into the bilge, some like it higher to try and pull some warm air out, others have it same length into the bilge as the blower one.

ps.. that's not a 120 mercruiser engine, thats a Volvo Penta engine."

Any suggestions about how and what I should use to replace the vent holes. Brand or type I need all the help I can get.
