Hi,
I replaced the damaged pre-alpha outdrive on my 1970 Slickcraft with a pre-alpha drive from my 69 Cruisers.* After everything was bolted up, I changed the oil, hooked up the muffs, allowed a little water flow, and fired it up.
Looking at the end of the prop while in neutral, there was little water coming out.* I sped it up to 1K RPM and checked gain and it appeared to be OK except the wind from the prop sprayed it around.* I also noticed a small steady stream of water coming from the opening of the section where the upper shift link meets up with the lower shift link.* I looked for evidence of leaks around the bellows and around the water intake hose but did not find anything odd.* Any thoughts?
S/N 2497805 / GM160 block is now fitted to once was 4339517 / GM165 block.* Could there be an issue given the wide range between serial numbers?
Thanks!!!!
Brian
