Hi friends, this is my first post here and I think the forum will be a huge help. I recently bought a 1956 Smithcraft fishing boat, trailer and motor, but need to know the correct oil / gas mixture.
It is a 1956 Evinrude Lark 35 hp motor.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the very fast reply racerone and sorry for the newbie questions, but why is the mix different between the older and newer motors..are fouled plugs a common problem with my ratio?
Thanks, again!

Plugs do not foul with 24:1 if the ignition system and engine are in proper tune.---------------Older motors run at 24:1 and lo and behold it is still running after 55 years .----------Many newer motors that are said to be able to run at 50:1 and even 100:1 are in the scrap pile.---------------Lubrication of fine 2 stroke motors seems to be a mystery to many folks and I do not know why that is.
