new water pump and only air comes out the tube.

I put a new water pump in and no water is coming out the tube. However you can feel air pushing through it. Any ideas to what could be wrong? I feel the impellar must be spinning if the air pushes up through.

Is this while running in water or on ear muffs?

Did you misalign the water tube in the waterpump when you put it back together. My guess is you did and the exhaust is coming back up the tube. the waterpump won't pump air.
