Hi all. I am new to the boating world, so expect lots of posts! I recently purchased a 16' baby cape with a 40 hp Mariner. I would like to change the plugs, are there a particular type I require? I believe the motor is a 1992, model is 40EL, code 6E9L and serial # is 421556.

I think it's the BUHW-2 NGK plug, check and see whats you have on your motor. most places that sell spark plugs can look it up and let you know for sure, but make sure you get NGK plugs, do let them sub some other brand on you. Mercury's and Mariners love NGK plugs...
 
I prefer NGK plugs, especially the ones with the surface gap. don't forget anti- seize and some di-electric grease.
