New to OMC 800

"Hello I am new to OMC drives

"Hello I am new to OMC drives all together so please bear with me. I have recently aquired an (older not sure of year as of yet) Crusader ski boat.

It is powered by a ford 351W and an OMC 800 stern drive. The engine, interior, trailer, and overall condition of the boat are in really great shape...But, and there is a but the out drive for it is removed and disassembled.

I got the boat for free and was wondering how much I could expect to pay for a used working outdrive to replace it, and to find out exactly what I have right now.

On the cover it read OMC 800 sterndrive 1.41:1
What serial or part #'s do I need to know when looking for a replacement?

"Will C, I'm still looking for the page(tommorow) but the cheapest rebuild I've found is about $3500. Thats the complete package with shift cable."
 
Wow 3500! that is alot of $$$

Wow 3500! that is alot of $$$ I guess I need to really think if the boat it worth it to me. A shop today said he could get me going with low hours used one for 1000 installed and said the boat would be worth 5-6k when done.

so im kind of on the edge.
 
Yea the $3500 is a pro rebuild

Yea the $3500 is a pro rebuild you pretty much bolt on and feed the cable thru. Im sure someone has one cheaper somewhere.
