"I just picked up a 5.7 Captains Choice motor, circa 2004. I have lots of questions but won't load up this post with all of them at once. The low pressure fuel pump was moved to the upper starboard side of the motor. Where was it originally located?
Fuel filter-wise there is only the Racor. No preliminary/primary Oberg filter. I believe I have the "new" returnless fuel system. I just got the engine today (not being stored at my house, and am writing this from what I remember seeing this afternoon) Is it possible there is none with the "new" returnless system? Motor has the water cooled high pressure pump, and crank mounted raw water pump.
I will eventually be installing the motor in a 23' Chris Craft Lancer I am restoring. I have to remove the borg warner tranny along with the flywheel housing and flywheel, to covert it to a 12 3/4" flywheel so it will mate with my 1979 Volvo outdrive.
Thanks, Jay"

"You will need a late model 12

"You will need a late model 12 3/4 inch flywheel (87 or newer), your 79 flywheel will not work on the 04 engine. You can use a manual transmission flywheel from a car or truck. It can be 4.3 V6 or 5.0 or 5.7 V8. Late flywheel has a smaller bolt circle where it attaches to crankshaft."

Can anyone tell me where the l

Can anyone tell me where the low pressure fuel pump was originally mounted on the block?
Thanks
