New to forum with Johnson vro 110 v4

Hello to all! I just now signed up to ask for your help. I'm in the middle of a "random act of kindness" and paying the price for it..........
I couldn't find a serial # (Left side of motor on mount, correct?) Could just be me. The boat has sat in the water for 4 years (freshwater) and not run for about 2.
The fuel system was messed up from the tank on (fuel with Ethanol) from sitting for so long. I was careful and got the motor running and the carbs given a shot of Seafoam intake and carb cleaner. It starts and idles nice, Here's the problem(s); I attached a normal (red plastic) fuel tank and fresh fuel (no Ethanol), so the factory fuel delivery system has been bypassed. Now it doesn't want to do anything more than idle or cut out. The warning buzzer is yodeling away with a steady but on/off growl. Before I dive into this thing, please give me some guidance. I believe the engine to be around 1987, I have no history of the boat or engine. I'm really good mechanically and have a good diagnostic ability, BUT, I have zero "marine" mechanical knowledge. It's currently floatin and tied to it's anchor, but it can be brought into my yard and worked on there.

you say the factory fuel delivery system has been bypassed? how? the vro is the delivery system. if its not drawing in oil the alarm will sound. and if its not drawing fuel the motor will not run . how are you getting the fuel into the carbs? by pumping the bulb? if so then after the fuel that you manually pumped in (by the bulb) is burned off it will die. if thats the case then mix oil and fuel in the red can..connect the fuel line to the fuel intake port on the vro...plug the oil intake hose on the vro so no air will be sucked in.....disconnect the electrical plug coming off the vro....that should get you running

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I phrased it poorly. All I did was hook up a plastic fuel tank to the fuel connector on the motor with the appropriate fuel line connectors.
According to the fellow that talked me into this efffort, the factory fuel lines from the tank were plugged from Ethanol.

Please walk me thru your suggested procedure with a bit more detail if you can. What mixture and type/brand of oil is your favorite for these things? I've worked on my share of 2 and 4 stroke systems, but I'd rather ask now..... Plug brand, range and gap? Also, how do I change out the oil in the leg and what oil?

Sorry , this was 4 years ago and nobody is going to send you money for manuals that can be found GRATIS using an internet search !!!
 
I already did it so if anyone wants them ill send it for free. It was easier than I though. But I have not found any manuals for free via a web search. Thats y I took the pics.
