"Did the tach test,grey wire to yellow/red wire,tach worked fine.Just put a new rectifier in,tach dont work,but if I "jiggle" the controls at the helm,tappin,wiggling the throttle/shift lever i can get the tach to work.Also only getting 12.5 volts
at 1200 rpm measured at battery and at the positive of the starter solonoid.i have the insructions for checking the diodes,will do that later today.Why would playing with the throttle make the tach work?Is there a common connection somewhere?Did I just smoke a new rectifier somehow?"

"follow the tach leads and re-set all conn's..from tach to control box,u may have as many as 3 conn's."

"Thank you Sir,pulled the cover off the controls,loose connection on the purple leads.All seems well,am getting 13 volts @ 1800 rpm also.And now I know the overheat alarm works also,daughter parked her car on the hose while I was screwing with the controls.Thanks again,
