new lower carburetor leaks

I rebuilt the carbs on my 50 hp mercury 2 stroke and the top and middle work great how ever the bottom carb leaked so i removed and clean again and installed still leaks. so i removed the bottom bowl inspected the float and moves great with no sticking. installed and still leaks . I ordered new carb from here and installed when it came in and it leaked right off the bat. i let it sit a few minutes and started it again and it ran great. i let it sit for a dayand tried to start it again and the carb leaked so bad that it flooded the engine and would not start. squeezed the bulb and fuel pours out the carb.
has anyone had this issue?

Since you have the original carb off turn the carb upside down and try to blow through the fuel fitting to see that the needle is really shuting off the fuel upside down the weight of the float will shut off the flow. If you can't blow through it (that's good) take the float bowl off and with it right side up blow through the fitting while raising the float with your finger. It should stop the flow when the float (usually) is about level and should take very little preasure on the needle to do it. In case the float goes much higher than level or takes noticeable preasure to make the air flow stop you need to check the book for the float level spec and/or pull and replace the fuel needle valve.
As to the new carb, the float might be stuck and not rising properly with the fuel level, shouldn't be but stuff happens.

i did check the float with the bowl off to see if air would pass through and no air passed until float was lifted. i checked the new carb float as well and seals
properly. the float is moving very well without problem. i just cant believe that it would do this with a new carb right out of the box. the other carbs work perfect. im gonna check the carb again and try starting the engine again.

Clamp the carb in a vise, hook up a tank to it, and pump the bulb. If (when) it leaks, remove the carb and lower the float level 1/16 of an inch at a time until it stops leaking.
