I was up in New Jersey last week. The folks at my Dad's marina were making a big deal out of the new reformulated gasoline with 10% ethanol. Apparently is is clogging up a lot of old fuel systems. They said that the alcohol also makes water seperate from the gas (I thought it was the other way around).

Anybody know anything more (facts NOT rumors)?

"We in the midwest have used E-10 (10% ethanol/90% gasoline) for years. Yes its true, ethanol is a great fuel system cleaner and it will loosen years of crud that has gathered in fuel tanks and fuel systems. It also attacks certain fiberglass (not plastic) fuel tanks. However, once the crud is loosened, trapped in the fuel filters, and carbs are rebuilt if necessary, the engine will tolerate corn squeezins just fine. Folks with very large fuel tanks seem to have more of problem with water absorption than those with smaller tanks. Water separators are essential in those applications."
