I was thinking of picking up a

I was thinking of picking up a spare coil to keep on the boat as a spare part. Are MARINE coils any different than automotive?

I understand that most of the electrical components for marine use are made to prevent arcing or sparks (not sure of the exact difference).

That was my thought and since the coil is in encapsulated unit I figure there isn't any internal difference. Thanks again guys.

Al how is she running? It stinks that you get her running good and god/uncle sam pulls the rug out from under you with these fuel prices."
