New 4.3 Mercruiser Engine Fuel Concerns

Good Morning. I have a new 4.3 MerCruiser Engine. I got a bad batch of fuel and had to pump it all out. ( Water in gas ) I drained the tank and changed out the water/fuel separator filter, added new high test gas. Now the engine will start right up, but only run for about 30 seconds and shut off. it starts right up again and then shuts off. I have changed out the water/fuel separator filter a few times and still the same problem. There could be a small amount of water still in the tank. The old gas was yellow in color. Any advise would be great

The boat is a 1997 Sea Ray 190 Signature series with a carb
The motor is brand new with less than 25 running hours on it as well. Its under warranty until August, but I have to trailer it 2 hours east. I thought if it was a quick fix it would save me some time. Thanks in Advance

Was it a complete "drop-in and go engine"? If it was then it is likely the carb is a TKS model. It may still have water in the bowl. Whether or not what carb it is it may need the top removed and the contents in it dumped. Did you check the carb fuel filter located where the fuel line connects to it?

No I have not done that yet. I have replaced the Fuel/water separator filter 4 times. Each time I do the gas is as yellow as urine ( Very yellow ) So I'm thinking there is still some water in the fuel tank, not much, but a little. Its a brand new drop in engine
