New 2021 Mercury outboard 75hp

Breaking in new engine. With only 1 hour on breakin the engine will not idle below 2,000rpm. The pisser was always working fine but the water is boiling hot. Any ideas?
 
Tell us more.----Did you read your manual.----Did selling dealer prep the boat.----Did selling dealer give you a 1/2 lesson on owning operating a fine motor ?

Read the manual. Followed breakin to the letter I.e. run at different rpms for 10 min then max for 1 minute. Did this for 1 hour of 2 required. Mako17 has external tanks which were vented. Bought from Bass Pro . Assuming they did everything. My 3rd inshore boat. 2 offshore. Never had boiling water pissing.
 
Understand it has a warranty. I was hoping it was something simple. Getting it scheduled and complete is 5 weeks. Sucks
