Neeed rebuild kits for 40hp mariner

"I have a 40hp mariner magnum,

"I have a 40hp mariner magnum, 2 cycle, 4 cyl. electric start, has an issue with cold starting, was told that it might be a good idea to rebuild carbs. trying to find rebuild kit. serial number 0C234142, unfortunately, no year. based on other research the engine is actually a yamaha engine. i believe it is a 1990 or 1991. can anyone help me out with the year."

"Nope, that serial makes it a 1990 Mercury (US) built Mariner - so just a 40 Merc with different paint/decals.

"Mercs" still contained a number of parts provided by Yamaha, but this model should not be confused with the Yamaha/Mariner line which was 100% Yamaha.

The carb repair kit for this model is Merc part number 1395-9650 (about 60 bucks) or just a gasket set 1395-9651 (about 6 bucks) depending on whether it needs a rebuild or a simple cleaning..."
