Needs some recommendation

Hi ALL,
I'm replacing the short block on my 4.3L. While I have the lower unit out is there anything that I should replace. Any special tools needed. Thank you for your input.
SX Cobra out drive
 
I have researched no special tools are needed that I can find. I have always had a vibration when revving the engine up. Is this sign of a u-joint or bearing going out in the out drive. Thank you
