Needing help on tilt and trim

Hey everone, I am redoing a 81 sea nymph 16x 48 flat bottom, and i have some questions about tilt and trim. The motor has a cylender on it now, but I belive it is tilde assist? I am unable to post a pic off a cell phone, my question is do I need to order whole tilt and trim unit or can I use this cylender?

sorry i did not give much to go on, here is a couple pictures. I am not exactly sure what this cylender is, it has that cable on it that runs to this lever it locks the fluid i belive

That looks like a tilt assist used on 40 hp motors. Very expensive to repair.

The motor is a 91 johnson 48 hp, which I belive is the same as a 50 hp without the oil injection. I want to put tilt and trim on I was unaware if I could add a motor and pump to that cylender or I need to buy the whole new unit

Check with CMC at 1-800-654-3697 for after market power tilt/trims.

Yes, like Boobie said, just get a CMC tilting set-back plate and you'll be all set. Much cheaper than adding anything OMC if they even make something for it.
