Need wiring info on 1996 evinrude 112 spl

Ok I have a 1987 johnson 90 hp and I got a 1996 evinrude 112 spl can I use the controls etc.... for the 90 on the 112 ?

If the controls / motors have the big red plug than it all be the same.

As said above if they both have red plugs you're okay. But being a 1996 system check may be involved as they have different plugs.
