hey,
i have a 1980s model murcery 60hp outboard. not much of a problem with the engine tho. just the ignition. i do not have a key. i got the boat pretty much for free and the guy never gave me a key and said he couldnt fine it. and i went to try to get it keyed but the number has been warn off. so, i was wondering if there is any way i could just wire in a toggle switch in place for the ignition. like could i just cut the whole ignition out and wire the wires to the toggle switch. i need help fast! i need the boat on the water by spring! i need a very simple explanation to. cause im not to familiar with boats.
