Need Some Advice Please

I did my best to search and find out if anyone had already experienced this, but didn't find anyone with the same problem. I apologize if this has already been discussed.

So here's my issue. I have a 2006 yamaha f150 four stroke that is kept in the water in the tilt position whenever it's not being used. Recently if the motor has been in the full tilt position for more that a few days and I trim the motor down it stops shortly after hitting the pistons, while the hydraulics continue to make noise. If I tilt the motor back up just a touch and them trim back down, the motor will continue on to the fully trimmed down position. Just recently, it will slow down with stop when going up, but then will seem to "catch" and be fine.

Does anyone know if the is just a low fluid issue? If it is low fluid, would that mean I have a leak somewhere? I don't have any experience with the tilt/trim, and I would just like to get a little info before I pull it out of the water and try to figure it out myself. Also, could this be the start of a larger problem?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Spray the shafts liberally w/a catylist lubricant (I use PB Blaster) and run them up/down. Repeat for several days.
