Lately I've been given a lot of good advice from the senior contributors on this forum pertaining to the diagnosis and removal of the bad impeller on my Honda BF100 outboard motor. In a past post, with the help of Mike the Hondadude, I've learned that my motor is a 1982 (data plate is B100S-1403603). Now that I have the offending, fragmented impeller out, I need to know if the replacement part 18-3245 that I see everywhere(including the parts dept. of this website) is the right part for a motor as old as mine. I called the local Honda service shop, and the very unpleasant man there told me that the Honda part was three times as much as part #18-3245, which I find online everywhere(Ebay, Amazon, as well as even auto part stores). The pictures of 18-3245 on the internet sites look the right part. All the websites say it's the impeller for ten horse Honda's. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in right direction on this. An impeller change is a simplistic job for someone with experience, but for me it's a big deal. Thanks for all the help, now and in past posts.
