"Ok, now that I have your attention. I keep reading in the manual for my evinrude 150 about this Ignition analyzer from kit # 434017, which i know has a crossref number for a CDI one, now my question is exactly what type or analyzer is it and can you use a different type of test tool to accomplish the same thing when you are checking the timing or resetting it? IE.. does it measure resisitance at certain point or voltage or what? I mean what is so special about this tool that the manual says you have to use it? What exactly is it measuring? Here where all this comes from. Just rebuilt the carbs on my 1996 Evin 150 intruder, cleaned out gas tank running good fuel and oil pump seem to be working just fine when i drain the carbs the fuel that comes out is a nice blue in color, I noticed lastnight when trying to figure out why it wont stay on at an idle that the number 1 cylinder seems to loose spark after about 10-15 seconds and the motor dies, gonna check power pack today but could that be it? I mean it fires up time after time for 10 -15 secs then the timing lite seems to slowly go dead when checking it then quits and the engine dies. Should I just try swapping out Power packs? I got a new spare lying around. Thought from the pros????"
