Hello, i have a 1985 Wellcraft Sportsman 248. Has a 350 GM 5.7 marine motor from a 99 Mastercraft i pulled the motor from a yard and rebuild it. Some say i need 130 amp alternator but i can seem to find one. Please help!

If you have a serial number for the engine I may be able to find a part number for the alternator? Can you get that and get back to me?

then a 55AMP alternator will work...biggest concern is the mounting details...

If you plan to use it as a party barge, you should have a separate house battery for that equipment...

without any details, its hard to provide anything other than a best guess on which alternator will fit/work.

From the pictures, it looks like it has black paint; so that infers the new engine is a Mercruiser product. without a serial number, the best thing you can do is look thru a catalog:
https://www.marineengine.com/parts/arco-marine-parts/
and see what your choices are.

The big driver is the case style needed to match the mounting hardware that's provided. There's really only a handful of choices...make some measurements and go from there.

you can also try ARCO's tech support department - they may be able to give you some hints...
