Need Help with newly purchased boat

"I recently bought a used 1986

"I recently bought a used 1986 20' Bayliner with a Volvo engine in it. According to the hull it is a 2.3L SOHC 4 cylinder. But for the life of me I cannot locate the actual engine model number to order parts, or get the correct firing order,etc. Can anyone be of assistance? You help is appreciated."

Firing order should be 1-3-4-2

Firing order should be 1-3-4-2 for the OHC 4's. Varify this for yourself via your OEM manual.

"yeah just my luck the tag is gone. my biggest question is.. is this boat worth fixing, i mean it seams like a such a big boat or only a little 4 cylinder ya know. i dont want to put a bunch of money in this thing if it cant even pull a skier and only goes 25 mph,

it wants to run, but it back firing out the carb so i think it jumped time. but i cant seam to find the timing marks i have the new belt with the lines on it but there is no mark on the crank to reference to.


also which manual do i need that will show me the marks? does anyone have one they will sell or a link to one from ebay or something."
