Need to see if anyone can tell

Need to see if anyone can tell me what the resistance readings are for a CDI stator part #174-5255. I had an earlier posting about the merc 402 motor that this stator is on loosing fire. I did voltage checks on the stator with the starter cranking the motor. Had only 15vac out of the dual red wire and the blue. One of those 2 is supposed to be putting out about 160v ac to the switchbox. The only thing I have to go off of on the stator resistance readings is the repair manual that has them for the mercury stator which is supposed to be about 5000 ohms between blue wire and ground. Im only getting about 50 ohms on the blue wire. The dual red wires check out as they are supposed to be at 50 ohms. The stator doesnt show physical signs of being bad. Anyone here able to help out or point me in the right direction for some answers other than the repair shop?

"Thanks Andrew. That is just

"Thanks Andrew. That is just what I needed. There must be a problem in the stator on blue wire side as tne resistance and voltage checks dont match up with what they show it should be.
Thanks again,
Doug"

"Andrew both are way off. Ohm

"Andrew both are way off. Ohms on blue side are only 50. CDI's diagnostics show it should have about 2500 ohms. And the volts I am getting out of the blue side is only about 15 ac. They say it should be about 160 vac. You are right though the resistance of the wiring is effected by temperature.
Thanks again,
Doug"

Got one. A digital multimeter

Got one. A digital multimeter. Took electronics for 2 years a long long time ago. LOL. Thanks for the advice though. Everyone here has been very helpful. Glad I found this forum.
