"I have a little 2 stroke 5hp mercury that's been sitting around for about a year. It idles fine but when I give any throttle it just stalls out on me. I've replaced the spark, cleaned the fuel lines, cleaned the carb. Also put in new gas and oil 50:1 ratio. I can get it to run in forward and reverse at very low speeds. When I give it even a little throttle though the engine putters and goes out. In neutral I can rev the engine pretty high, but as I mentioned, as soon as I shift into a gear with more then minimal amount of throttle, it dies. It is on the back of a 25ft sailboat right now. Any ideas?"
