Hello All,

My friend and i went in together on a 1967 Johnson Meteor outboard engine Model number on the engine is: v4tl-13a. We foolishly unhooked the ignition without properly marking the wires for easy re installation of the new one... (this is my first boat if you cant tell already). We have a 4 pin ignition now with pins on the letters B, I, A,S. We need help figuring out what goes where as far as wire colors. There are multiple solid RED wires, one of which is paired with a white wire with a red stripe. ANY help at ALL would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry... You'll need to trace those wires to see what the other end is attached to, However, the following may help you somewhat.

On the ignition switch terminals.....

B (battery) = Whatever wire is constantly supplied with 12 volts. The wire that goes directly to the positive (+) battery terminal.

I (ignition) = If using automotive type ignition, the wire that leads directly to the (+) terminal of the ignition coil.

A (accessory) = Anything you want 12 volts applied to when the key is in the ON or START position.

S (solenoid) = Wire that leads to the electric starter solenoid.

here ya go.....
