Recently bought '98 Sunbird 170 boat. First time out, it ran fine until reverse didn't work. Ended up replacing broken plastic shift shaft bushing/rod keeper. Went to start motor to test reverse, motor started for about 20 seconds then stalled. Tried ignition key again, heard a faint electrical snap then no starter engagement. Plus, normally hear an audible self-diagnostic horn when key turned on, but nothing! Checked all fuses - all good. Tried to pull rope start...almost started. Need help troubleshooting electrical system to narrow down failed component. Any advice would be appreciated!
