Need help testing stator/trigger on 1988 Mariner 60 HP 3cyl

Need help determining whether I need to replace the stator on my 1988 Mariner 60 HP 3cyl. Serial number is 0B309241. Bogging and struggles to get on plane, misfiring at idle is intermittent.

Does anyone here have the ohm and DVA readings, as well as instructions to help me determine if the stator or trigger are going bad on this outboard? There is one blue, one red, and two yellow wires coming from the stator.

The blue wire should be around 250 volts, with the red around 50 volts (or vice-versa. I get them mixed up.) Don't sweat the yellow wires---they are for charging the battery, BUT if there's a short in the rectifier they can mess up the ignition as well. Disconnect one of the yellow wires and see if it makes a difference.

PS: Have you tried opening the idle mixture screws 1/4 to 1/2 OUT (CCW)? That often cures your problem.

How do you test these though? I have a multimeter currently and have a DVA adaptor on order. I have never used a DVA adaptor. I turned the mixture screws out yesterday while running it and it helped the misfiring A LOT! I have not taken it on the water yet to try running the outboard under a load. Will test out this weekend.
