need help setting float level on 75 Hp Mercury

this is my brothers and i just cleaned the carb out and now with the engine tilted up fuel runs out the butterfly opening of the carb. I have taken the carb back off and blew it out again but looking for the spec's for setting the floats. The motor is an 1985 Mercury outbd 75 hp serial #A169243

If that is your motor a complete carb rebuild would be the way to go. Pull the soft plugs and take it completely apart except the throttle butterfly soak in carb cleaner overnight and blast it with high pressure water and blow it dry. If you do it right now it will give him years of trouble free service with proper maintenance. Allways replace the fuel lines, fuel filter and clean the fuel pump before you put a rebuilt carb into service. Also drain the float bowls if it is going to sit unused for any extended period.

If seats are in good condition it should be a simple procedure.
