Need help replacing volvo tilt lock mechanism

"The thing should be removable without pulling the drive. Use pliers to remove the latch spring which is located in the center of the pawl. Using a wrench, back out the two retaining pins which are screwed into the bearing housing. There are holes in the yoke to allow the pins to move back. IMO"

There is another manual which provides much better description and drawings of the pawl. I believe it is called "Clymer" (?).

The service guy told me that it would be about 2 hours labour to do what I want. Is that about right? I am not sure if he realizes that the outdrive needs to be removed to replace that #44"
