Need help on flush with barnacle buster

Hello, I got a Porta flush Junior and I want to use the Barnacle Buster to do a circulating flush on my motors and I want to know how do I connect it and how do I block off the water that goes to the exhaust through the 4 inch lines what is the procedure in blocking that and doing the circulation at the same time?

you will probably get a different answer from everyone that answers that question...

If you wanna get the entire sea water side of the cooling system, I'd probably start by pulling the impeller from the raw water pump and then putting the pump back together and connecting those hoses. I'd then pull the raw water feeds to the exhaust elbows. I would make a TEE fitting and connect those hoses to the TEE and the third leg would connect to the supply from your flush device. I would pull the raw water hose at the thru hull and route that back to the flush device via the return connection.

Mix up the concentrate and flush the system...then put it all back together...

Am I correct by doing what you say and putting the tea with the hoses from the heat exchanger before the elbow when I do the flush, I won’t be flushing the barnacle busters through the elbow that goes to the exhaust is that correct?

i wouldn't...if the elbows are clogged, replace them.

with the corrosive nature of exhaust gas, you can rarely 'clean' an exhaust elbow before it fails somewhere else...

I guess u don’t understand my ??
If I connect it the way u said above I would not be flushing thru the elbow ? Am I correct on this ?
I replaced elbows 2 years ago

you are correct - my approach doesn't flush the elbows.

If you are hellbent on flushing the elbows, you would have to pull the 4" hose on each elbow and then rig up some sort of ... and connect the flusher pump to the raw water inlet hose....

or

you could do it as I suggested and the flush each elbow out separately...i really don't think it is worth the effort to try to flush them...

If you are talking about the cooling line feeding a dripless shaft seal, you can pinch it w/ a pair of hose pliers or pull the hose and plug it...
