Hello,
I'm posting here for the first time after lurking a while.
Long story short, my Dad picked up an old outboard from Goodwill for $15. Rebuild looks to be a a great Father-Son project. Trouble is, most of the paint/identifiers have been rubbed off over time. Based on some internet snooping, the starter recoil cover seems to be from a 1961 Eska Model 400 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/RECOIL-START...tor-/261907342484?hash=item3cfae4e494&vxp=mtr ), but the rest of it appears not to match that model. Unfortunately there are no stamped serial numbers that I can find. The only stamped markers indicate that its 4 stage, the oil fill instructions and Made in Canada.
Any ideas on what we've got here?
