Need help identifying engine.

1984 Mercruiser 5.7L 260HP 350CI Sterndrive Alpha One Gen One.
The only tag I've found is from a Quicksilver re-power several years ago. Makes it difficult ordering parts. I brushed off some coorosion today and found the block is stamped between the intake manifold and the fly wheel housing with a large GM 40 followed by the number 14016379. I'd appreciate any info

Regardless of the engine part/casting number for your purposes.

Pre 1987 are two part rear main seals. Starting 1987 the went to a one piece rear main seal.

So any parts you need will be available for the year of manufacture of the original engine 1984.

The base block did not have many if any changes from 70's up to 1986.
