i have been working on this en

i have been working on this engine but can't seem to get it running. started with bad power pack and coils and fuel pump replaced all of these and cleaned the carbs. now have spark and fuel getting to the carb but not to the plugs reeds are free. when i first checked the comp. it was 120/120 after getting fuel and spark still no start checked comp again 85/85 could this be a bad head gasket or sopmething else any thoughts would be appreciated

It is possible the mechanical

It is possible the mechanical lower crank seal is the problem for the lower cylinder but still should fire up on the top cylinder...spray some fuel mix into the carb and try to start it again i think your problem could still be in the carby

i also tried that and nothing

i also tried that and nothing thats why i'm scratching my head good spark should have at least fired the gas when put in the cylinders

engine hasn't run in 5 yrs

"If You are spraying fuel into

"If You are spraying fuel into the carb throats, one of two things should happen:
Engine starts?
Spark gets soaking wet?
If none of the above, You have probably next to 0 crank case compression, or blow-by between the cylinders due to defective head gasket."

"Remove cylinder head, inspect

"Remove cylinder head, inspect cylinder walls. If cyl walls are okay, carefully clean and resurface head and block sealing surfaces and install new head gasket.

Use champion QL77JC4 spark plugs, gapped at .040 .
