"I am trying to replace a worn out, broken and ugly Volvo Penta Power Trim Switch Assembly. This consists of a round guage style mounting face, a switch and an amber colored lamp assembly and mounts in the instrument panel. I am having trouble finding a VP parts dealer who will take the time to look this up for me. If you can help please email me and I will email photos and more detailed information. "Dave,

You could post your model and engine serial number here and someone might look it up for you.

You could also look at what Teleflex offers.

If you find a part number from them we could probably supply it to you."

"How's Alvin?

If you're looking for an original part, I don't know how far back they go with parts. What does the lamp tell you- it's active? Technically, if they have what looks like a pair of solenoids on the pump or two 30A relays, what you use for a switch doesn't really matter as long as it's weather-resistant. The switch wouldn't be carrying much current and the real work is done by the relays."

"In answer to all the question

"In answer to all the questions, Alvin is doing great haha!

The actual tilt mechanism works just fine, but up front on the instrument panel, the switch is bad, the light does work but the amber colored threaded plastic bulb cover that holds the lamp assebly to the face plate is broken and the lamp is currently floating somewhere behind the instrument panel. The round mounting plate is faded, worn and flaking apart....it's an old boat. I was hoping to find original parts if they are available, since this fits directly into the instrument panel

Here are the engine and outdrive numbers. I have photos and a couple of drawings to show what I am looking for if anyone can help me find these items.

Engine : 500A 868268
No. 4100115579

Outdrive: 850678 7917
No. 623137

...this is a challenge. One note: I found a Volvo Penta drawing titled Mechanical Tilt Mechanism 280 Late Model, showing the Power Tilt Switch/Light/Mount as an assembly. But alas no part number. I found component parts listed individually on a similar drawing for a 250/270 outdrive, again with no part numbers. Without part numbers...well you know how that goes.

Thanks for the responses."
