I have a 1986 E8RCDE and I cannot get it to go anywhere. I have checked the compression in both cylinders, 100psi give her take a few pounds in each. I have replace the diaphram fuel pump. seems to be visually pumping fuel well, the more rpms i give it the more comes out, plus fuel pressure gauge reads round 4psi. it starts on the first crank warmed up and second when cold. idles great, when i rev it up under a load it acts like its starving for fuel, but i was starting to think maybe its getting smothered somehow. im pretty sure im getting lots of fuel and air but no get up and go. i performed a resistance test on my charge coil and it read 442 when my manual says it should be 500-575? its an 86 so no points just a power pack? is it possible that the charge coil is not giving the power pack enough juice to run at high speed? Any ideas from anyone who has more experience than me is greatly appreciated? it does not spudder it just acts like it bogs out if that makes any sense thank you

Yes its advancing with the throttle. I have a sensor and power pack and charge coil i believe it cd type 2 . If im not getting a half inch on my gap test would it be the power pack or charge coil i was thinking the charge coil may be weak cuz my manual states i should get a minimal of 575 to 650 on a resistance test i was wrong when i wrote 500 but mine tests 442 of resistance thru my charge coil

classic fuel issue. First thing I would do is connect a 6 gal tank to engine with a new or known good fuel line and bulb assembly, and see if it runs on that.
