Hello everyone first post and I could really use some help. I'm looking at buying a 1987 25ft Grady White Sailfish. She has twin 1997 200hp Evinrude Ocean Pro's on a bracket. Last week I took her out for a sea trial and after about 20 mins of running around the stbd motor stalled and we could not get her to fire back up. The motor will crank just fine all day but there is not combustion at all. The guy that owns the boat swore that it's the deadman switch. We messed with it for about and hour and just ran in on one motor. I went back to the boat today after the guy said he got it fixed and never even got her off the trailer, same issue stbd engine would not start, we pulled a plug and checked for spark, we were getting spark, checked primer bulb, it was hard, checked fuel/water sep and it was full of fuel, inline filter in engine comp had fuel in it. I am honestly stumped here. A couple things I did notice while the motor was running the first sea trial, RPM gauge on stbd side was only working intermitently and was bouncing pretty good. Also the boat pulls stbd real bad at WOT, I know this is because the port motor is running at a higher RPM than the STBD motor, I had to back the port down to 4000 to get her to run straight. Anyone have any ideas?

You need to go back to the basics... Compression test, proper spark test across all 6. Spark should jump a 7/16" gap. Let us know the results, then we can help you further.
