Nartron black rectangular cube link inline to Alternator

Can anyone identify this part? It connected to my Volvo AQ125A engine alternator via a second purple wire coming out of the near-end (see wire stub). The second wire broke off today and I cannot find any part numbers on it. Also, all I find via Google for Nartron is relays, which this is not. I think it may be a fuseable link and reads 70 ohms. Where can I get a replacement? Thank you.

A picture would help. How many wires on it? Not clear from your post. This site has an excellent search feature on the "parts" link. Try to find it on the exploded views provided.

Here is the picture. It had a purple wire coming out of both ends, but one just fell off. It attaches to the regulator terminal on the alternator. I thought is was fusable link - but apparently NOT because now that the boat is running, the coil stay charged the key does not turn the engine off now. :-(

That's why it's there. It's a one way diode that won't let the Alt back feed the ign. Put a ring terminal on it and put it back on.

Thanks Gary. I researched it in various forums and the consensus was that it is a resistor. It measures 70 Ohms and from what I read it could be anywhere from 10-70 Ohms. It actually disintegrated so I could not put it back on. Instead I went to Radio Shack and purchased 2- 100 Ohm 10W resistors, wired them in parallel to achieve 50 Ohms, then installed it from the alternator to the wiring harness (coil) where the original one was. It works because now the engine will turn off with the switch. Heading to the lake this weekend!
