mysterious hole in lower unit by the oil level plug " 71 evinrude 25hp"

Stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. I have a 1971 evinrude 25hp and theres oil coming out of what looks like a relief hole. Its in the lower unit to the left and a little lower than the oil level screw. Any ideas?

Heres the leak, once the water dries it leaves a dark oil looking stain with some crud spots in it

This is likely normal.-------Perhaps have the gearcase itself pressure tested to look for leaks.
