My mercury outboard wont start 115 hp?

I have a 1975 115 hp mercury outboard and I need to know how to check if the switch box works because I have no spark and the motor does not want to start and I put in new wires and nothing works. Model 1150

You can't check the switchbox - no tool exists.

The way you prove the switchbox is the problem is by proving that every other ignition component IS working and when nothing is left it's the switchbox.

Some components can be tested with an ohm meter and some require a DVA equipped meter (the ignition produces AC which it converts to DC "downstream" - to test "upstream" you need the DVA adapter - just about any small engine shop is equipped and can test for a nominal charge).
