Movement in the crankshaft

,about .010 or less,enough to make noise.I suspect a bearing,which makes me

as I only rebuilt her this spring.So before I open her up again all suggestions and advice welcome and appreciated,except that of dropping her over the side

"Remove the lowerunit and see if the noise goes away, if you can hear it. Doesn't sound like .010 is a bad thing. I would be looking for something else, maybe under the flywheel or the lower unit"

Sorry I didn't explain right,I can grab flywheel and lift it up and down,at least I know that the drive shaft isn't frozen to the crank shaft

,very slight movement.Maybe I'm getting paranoid and thinking because everything is going right there's something wrong,which reminds me there was a restriction on the fuel line

I used an airline fitting to fit into the fuel inlet and it only had a 4mm bore"

"I can't remember the year of your obsession/engine, If it has a roller bearing on bottom and a tapered bearing on top it relies on gravity and the drive shaft to keep pressure on the tapered bearing on the crank. So some play would be normal. Newer models have a spring loaded pin on the drive shaft to keep pressure on the crankshaft, I don't know what you have."

I just don't like been beat,and I've had great fun doing it.Anyway I couldn't afford to change it now in the "present economic climate". That's the buzz words here at the moment.Plus when you the roar of that big beautiful thing
