Can you guys point me in the right direction here ?
I’ve just purchased a 19’ 1990 Blue Water Cuddy 2 and need some help on the right sized kicker motor to put on it. This is a good sized boat weighing in the 2500- 2800# range
the boat came with an older model adjustable easy lift mounting plate that is pretty much worn out. I have an 8 hp short shaft motor that Iput on it, and it was scary to say the least. Oh it’s strong enough to hold it ok, but the thing is not designed for this 100# motor.
I've already ordered a heavy duty Bracket that will handle up to a 30hp weighing 169#.

so I got that part covered. What I need help with is what size kicker to buy for this boat, and whether I need a long shaft motor or not. After trying this short shaft 8hp motor, this is not going to do it. I’m pretty certain I’m going to need a long shaft motor.
