I bought a 1989 gambler bass b

I bought a 1989 gambler bass boat which had a susuki 150 that was removed I want to put on a 1978 mercury 150 that was given to me with out coontrols. The merc needs to be wired in to existing wiring. but I am looking at the wiring it seems that all the accesories pick up power out of the susuki wiring?? I am a bit confused.
The last boat I had there was a power distribution block. any Ideas guys

"Chris, The Merc has a battery

"Chris, The Merc has a battery powered ignition. You need to have +12V (from the ignition switch) on the white wire on the switchbox for the merc to run. It is likely the Suzuki had a distributorless ignition, where the ignition wire was grounded to stop the motor. You may need to change the igniton switch. The original Merc Wiring harness had the battery voltage running into the motor to operate the starter, and then running to the ignition switch to operate the ignition, starter solenoid and choke. If you pick up a wiring diagram, you can likely rig a harness up. All accessories except gauges ran directly off the battery. The gauges could be run off the MerControl."
