Motor is stalling when I put in forward

Hey guys my motor is stalling only when I'm putting it into forward. I can hold the the spring up by the stall switch and it will stay running after I put it into gear. So I'm just wondering why the spring is moving and cutting it off in forward and what I should do about it. Thanks

Have you done any work on the outdrive . In most cases when the switch activates going into gear the lower shift cable is damaged and needs replacement
