hi I recently got a 89 bayline

hi I recently got a 89 bayliner with a non running engine. the cowl sticker says johnson 90. the sticker colors and style are from the early 90s. The numbers on the transom plate are (case number 557795 DNR) this is stamped into a metal plate and screwed to the bracket. I cant find any info on this. I peeled the sticker off the cowl on one side and there is evidence of a different decal with red and black. please help

"That number doesn't exist in the OMC Model Guide book. If it did, it would indicate the engine was some kind of 55hp model.

I assume that the engine is a V4 (4 cylinder) model. There should be a plate on the left transom bracket which has the model and serial number imprinted."

thanks for responding. yes it is a v-4. I was wondering if the tag on my motor may have been put on there by the dnr. maybe it was involved in some type off crime and they put a case number on it. Do you know if there is any other way to identify the motor? I pulled the starter and it had a model number 389954 and a date 4-24-84. I dont know if that helps. Thanks

"At the rear top portion of the engine, there is a core plug (or should be) hopefully with the model and serial number on it. Rear top meaning that while standing in back of the engine, facing the spark plugs, you would be staring directly at the core plug.

Other than that, I can onle suggest that you take many pictures and email them to various members here that might request them in order to ID that engine."
 
I checked the motor and there

I checked the motor and there is a plug left of center over the cylinders it read (E100WTLCRS) and below that was (JO411531). Ihope this is good information. If not Ill get the camara and send some pics Thanks

i have a 1961 75hp outboard evinrude model # 50525 can anyone tell me what it is worth it runs good and looks good
