Motor conversion

have 2 evinrude motors. 1969 5

have 2 evinrude motors. 1969 55hp short shaft not running.
another one is a 1970 60 hp long shaft running good.
would like to make the 60 hp into a short shaft. can i exchange bottom units. thanks mike
