Motor Change

I'm replace my 1984 mercruiser 260 with a 1987 mercrusier 260 long block. I have never put a motor in a boat before. I have a forklift to do the lifting. Can someone please let me know the best way to swap the motors.

You need to buy a manual. There are too many details involved to explain here.

psi660, I am replacing my 1987 Mercruiser with a 1987 Mercruiser long block. Unless you have plenty of good friends to help you I would not attempt it. Beware the price of the long block is only the start. I know, you are getting a direct replacement where everything should match up but it won't! Best bet is pay a GOOD mechanic $1,000.00 to install it.

And what ever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM MICHIGAN MOTORZ!!!!!!
