"i have a 2001 225 vmax, that up until a week a go ran great. i broke a throttle cable last weekend, so needless to say i had to idle home. after installing a new cable the boat ran great but now it seems sluggish and after i do get on plane it wont go past 4500 rpms. in addition everytime i hit a wake the motor will cut out like the ignition shuts off, but if i let off the throttle and then get back on it the motor will run again until i hit another wave. i am completely lost and every one i know has never seen anything like it either. so if anyone can give me suggestions i really appreciate it, thanks in advance"
 
I believe there is a sensor th

I believe there is a sensor that detects engine tilt angle and won't allow the engine to rev up if the engine is tilted to high. The waves may be causing the sensor to put the engine into protection mode.
